Grand Rounds 5:3

Grand Rounds 5:3 is up at M.D.O.D.
A post from me, which is apparently cynical beyond my years :-)

A hilarious post from Rveblade about his Sub Internship, where he relates brain surgery to "zombie bait surgery". Love it.

An interesting post from Canadian Medicine about ethics in medical bloggers.
59% "often... spend extra time verifying facts"
7% "often... try to obtain permission for copyrighted material
29% "often... post corrections"
Dr Jolie Bookspan posts about living underseas and exploding toilets.

Allergy notes tells us how to do nasal irrigation for rhinitis or rhinosinusitis......

The Week or some derivative of said length of time posts about the financial downside of those people who always ask questions in class.

Bruce Campbell at Head Mirror talks about how learning to do surgery is like learning to drive a car. And when you move countries....you may have to retrain or recertify (involving lots of red tape and fees, just because they can), and there may be cultural differences. Like "Why are you driving like everyone is out to get you? Everyone else obeys the rules of the road....so calm down, release that white knuckled grip and commit to the intersection already" *Cough*. For example.

Grand Rounds 5:4 will be hosted next week at Notes of an Anaesthesioboist.
